Cookies and Local Storage

The short version: EasyNavLog sets no cookies of its own, runs no analytics, and has no advertising trackers. It does use your browser's local storage to remember your airplanes and preferences, because that is the only way the app works without an account.

What we actually store

All of the following is stored by your own browser on your own device. It is not transmitted to us, and we cannot read it.

Your librarySaved airplanes, waypoints, recent routes and the flights you chose to keep. Your preferencesNavlog layout, sheet options such as font and ETA handling, map layers, airspace to avoid, and whether night-aware checkpoints are on. Dismissed noticesWhich one-time hints you have already closed, so they do not come back. Cached lookupsRecent weather and map data, so a rebuild does not re-fetch everything.

If you create an account, your authentication provider (Supabase) also stores a session token in local storage so you stay signed in between visits. That token is what keeps you logged in; clearing it signs you out.

What we do not do

No analytics package of any kind is installed. No Google Analytics, no advertising pixels, no session recording, no cross-site tracking, no fingerprinting, and no cookies set by this site. We do not sell or share personal information, and there is nothing here to opt out of because the tracking simply is not present.

Third parties your browser contacts

Building a navlog means fetching public aeronautical data, and those requests come from your browser, so those services see your IP address the same way any website you visit does. This is not tracking we have arranged; it is how the data reaches you.

Aeronautical and weather dataFAA (tfr.faa.gov, aviationweather.gov via our relay), the National Weather Service (api.weather.gov), FAA chart tiles (ArcGIS), the Iowa Environmental Mesonet for radar, and OpenStreetMap for landmarks and roads. Hosting and accountsNetlify serves the site. Supabase stores accounts and saved libraries. PaymentsStripe, when paid plans are live. Card details go to Stripe and never reach us. Code libraries and fontsLeaflet and related libraries from public CDNs, and web fonts from Google Fonts. Weather mapThe weather map on the Weather tab is an embedded map from Windy.com. It does not load until you choose to load it, and it can set its own cookies once you do. If you never open it, nothing from Windy is contacted.

Do you need to accept anything?

No. There is no consent banner because there is nothing to consent to: the storage described above is what makes the app function and is set only because you asked for the service. Nothing non-essential loads on its own, and the one third-party embed waits for you to click it.

Clearing it

You can export or delete your saved library from inside the app at any time. Clearing site data for easynavlog.com in your browser settings removes everything listed here, including your local library, so export first if you want to keep it. Signing out removes the session token.

Changes and contact
